The 2025 Eliza Scholarships

On June 4, 2025, the second annual Eliza Grover Scholarships were awarded at Menlo-Atherton High School to graduating seniors Luis Licea Fuerte and Giselle Martinez Landa.

Giselle Martinez Landa, winner of the 2025 Eliza Grover Health Sciences Scholarship. Giselle excelled in academics at M-A, and co-led a student group to help immigrant families. She is a first-generation college student, pursuing a nursing degree at San Jose State University with a special interest in pediatrics.

Luis Licea Fuerte, winner of the 2025 Eliza Grover Newcomer Scholarship. Luis arrived in the US in 9th grade and overcame great odds to succeed in academics, volleyball, and robotics at M-A. He is the first in his family to attend college, and will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering at UC Santa Cruz.

Luis is pictured here with Lilly Quiñonez, Sequoia Union High School District Newcomer Family Liaison, and a longtime friend and mentor to Eliza when she was at Menlo-Atherton.
