Our Projects
Our initial funding targets are described below. Depending on the amount that we raise, we hope to make additional gifts that honor the places, activities, and causes that mattered most to Eliza.

Menlo Atherton High School
At Menlo-Atherton High School, a large public school where Eliza and her sisters each spent four formative years:
Provide scholarship funds to support low-income students
Fund yearly projects and/or programs aimed at engaging students across the socioeconomic divide
Land Preservation and Outdoor Recreation
In the area surrounding Donner Summit, where Eliza and her family have enjoyed all-season outdoor adventures for so many years:
Support land preservation and recreation, including trail development and maintenance and building benches and/or rest areas for hikers and cross country skiers
Work with the Truckee Donner Land Trust and Royal Gorge XC to designate a trail, lookout, and/or warming hut in Eliza’s honor
The true leadership of the fund comes from the individuals, families and groups who have come together with us to honor Eliza’s memory. We are SO SO GRATEFUL.
Still, as a registered not-for-profit, we had to assign some official roles, so here they are:
President: Ann Banchoff (she promises not to let it go to her head)
Treasurer and Secretary: Christopher Grover
Advisory Committee: Christina Bird, Sandy James, and Lilly Quiñonez
